Zoo-corner (Mini-zoo) of Sluneční lázně (= Sun bath)

The Most zoo-corner was part of so-called Sluneční lázně (= Sun bath - trip restaurant with a terrace, children's attractions and the sun bath of course), which were located in the hills somewhere in the third or half of the then road from the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary to the Hněvín castle (the then Roosevelt street). The zoo-corner was of park type, has existed since the early 50s (or already since the late 40s). The entire Sun bath was very popular and favorite destinations just in the 50s - families from neighborhood spent here also whole weekends and also schools and nurseries regularly took trips here. Later, the mini zoo and also the entire Sun bath began somewhat to deteriorate. The number of animals decreased so much that it already didn't be worth to collect entrance fees. In 1959, also all songbirds were removed (due to an outbreak parrot fever). In that same year, the Sun Bath moved to Management of Cultural Centre and the mini-zoo under the patronage of people's hunting society "Red North". Number of animals began to be increased and cages and aviaries repaired (1959/1960). The repair was planned until to April 1960, but it is not clear whether it actually took place in its entirety, because an abolishing of the mini zoo was authorized in May 1961. The restaurant remains preserved.

In 1962, it was discussed about the renewal of the Sun Bath as a cultural center for youth (children's playground, puppet theater...), from the minutes of that talks show that the last years problem of the Sun Bath was just the restaurants (alcoholism and card gambling). It is not known whether the puppet scene finally existed, however in March 1965, the decision was made to release the entire Sun Bath for demolition in frame of "liquidation of old Most" due to coal mining (the demolition physically took place later - certainly not before the year 1966).

Bear, foxes, monkeys, roe deer, Saanen goats, porcupine, squirrels, horned owls, small songbirds, partridges, pheasants, turtles and certainly also other animals.
