Vivarium, which was created in the former House of Pioneers and Youth (now Leisure Centre) at the time of building the Košice Zoo - for purpose of zoo-ring, but mainly as a temporary location for small animals of the later zoo. Vivarium was also some kind of hoarding or eye-catcher for the future zoo. 40 aquariums (70 - 380 litres) and 28 small and medium sized terrariums. At the time of opening, there were more than 120 species of reptiles, amphibians, fish, invertebrates and mammals. The Vivarium served only a few years, animals were gradually moved to new zoo after its opening (1986). It was closed apparently still in late 80s.
