Nyíregyházi Állatpark

The second largest classical Hungarian zoo. Originally it was only a Wildlife park (Vadaspark), later the zoo. After 1996 (and especially after 2000) Sóstó Zoo underwent literally utter transformation. From the regional zoo it become the Hungarian number one, in the words of the Hungarian visitors... The number of excellent reconstructed and new buildings and other exposures. The Green Pyramid (Zöld piramis) is the most bombastic - giant four storeyed Asian tropical house with oceanarium, terrarium, night exposure, aviaries, show cases and other exposures, fifteen meters waterfall, river, bamboo bridges, tropical illusions (birds singing, storms etc.) and of course a number of plants and animals. An interesting example is the glass pass through the mixed the exhibition of elephants and gibbons.

The second biggest attraction is the African panorama and Tarzan trail (Afrika Panorama és Tarzan Ösvénye) - a long foot-bridge leading over all African enclosures and houses. Another popular attraction is the Arctic (Sarkvidék) - glassed pools of sea lions, seals, penguins, polar bears and aviary of gulls - all interwoven with tunnels. But there are also other excellent exposure - Hungarian Farmyard, houses of African elephants, bears, mixed exposition of Indian rhinos and takins ... Also species composition is very interesting and includes a number of less common and very rare animals.
