  • Popis, zvířata

    Scientific-research farm of elands and guanacos operated by the Institute of Tropics and Subtropics of Czech Agricultural University in Prague. The farm is located in the former Presidential homestead and serves mainly for practical education, solution of diploma and doctoral theses and to verification of the possibilities of alternative commercial use of these animals, but in so tourist village of Lány, also as a kind of "special zoo". About 50 specimens of elands in two enclosures (in total about 2 ha) and about 15 specimens of guanacos in one enclosure (1 ha). ŠZP has a veterinary dispensation for the slaughter of antelopes in the frame of the project and so it is the only antelope farm in the EU and moreover also the only one who can to slaughter the antelope in the EU.
