CHARZA (Chovné a rehabilitační zařízení) Zoo Praha

Sometime in early 80s, Prague zoo received (from personal people) a vast land in the village of Dolní Dobřejov (in the area called Czech Siberia), these lands were not used for several years and perhaps only in the late 80s, there was established the Breeding and acclimatization station especially for Przewalski's horses - with a prospect to prepare here the horses, which would be returned to the Mongolian nature. In 1998 and 2000, the first 4 animals went - the transports were organized by foreign zoological gardens and then stopped. Therefore in 2011, the Prague Zoo organized the transportation itself - 4 horses were transported to Mongolia by Army airplane.

Over the years, in Dolní Dobřejov there appeared also several other animals. Currently in the station are: Przewalski's horses, kiangs, elks, alpaca, goats, handicapped roe deer and moufflons (which, however, belongs to the private breeding).
