Originally a small zoo-corner in the hospital (for laboratory and therapeutic purposes). Later (about 2004) a former employee of the hospital rented it. In a few years the zoo has increased to the size of standard mini-zoo, with which the hospital did not agree and wanted to abolish the zoo. In 2006, it gave notice of lease to owner of the zoo-corner. Several negotiations took place, but the whole matter ended up in court. Zoo-corner received a court decision on eviction from the premises of the hospital to 15 October 2009. By that it was oficially abolished in the hospital, however in actual fact still persisted. Even it has received several grants (min. three) in 2010. The hospital filed a motion for execution eviction (2010), however it was not happened even in the first half of 2011.

About 100 animals - sheep, goats, horses, deer, llamas, rheas, parrots, peacocks, geese, chickens, the most famous animal through the media is female donkey called Rebeka - the first and only donkey in Europe (and probably in the world), to which was

the discarded human pacemaker implanted (in 2002). The current situation is somewhat unclear, the zoo-corner is looking for new space and reduces the number of animals. However the latest information (from the second half of 2011) speaks about the return of donkey Rebeka after the batteries of pacemaker replacing back into the hospital premises.
