In 1958 (or 1954), aquarium group of Company club of Tatra Smíchov (founded 1951) created and opened the second Prague public aquarium in the order (however at that time it existed already as the only). Its creation was merit of large and very active aquarist Antonín Novotny jr. (son of the later president).
The aquarium was in operation for more than 30 years, but too much information about that is not available. It was closed in 1990, when the end of the world's largest tram producer - Tatra Smíchov was inexorably approaching and after that also the demolition of the entire unique campus. Today, on the site of the former Tatra Smíchov there is Center Nový Smíchov.
