Kutná Hora Zoo-corner (Mini-zoo)

Mini-zoo, which was located in the park under Vlašský Court till 1936. Then he moved a little farther to another part of the park (past Žižka's gate). After the war, the mini-zoo was closed and renovated in 50s. Monkeys (macaques), dingos, foxes, raccoons, badgers, roe deer, squirrels, parrots, local song birds, pheasants, ducks, guinea fowls, tortoises, in the fountain were colored fish. After 1968 animals in mini-zoo were reduced to birds. In the mid 70s, the National Committee decided to liquidate mini-zoo. The reason was the departure of longtime manager and not finding a new one. The animals were sold off to the pet shops and Zoo Bojnice. Reflections about restoring the mini-zoo begun in 1999, a study has been processed, but the plan was not realized. Considerable effort to restore a mini-zoo has begun again since 2008. In 2011, the civic association submits an application for leasing of 0.25 ha of former mini-zoo area - to create a modern mini-zoo, which easily gets the license and status of the zoological garden.
