Popis, zvířata
Tiergarten or Wildpark - German names, which are usually used for the preserve / deer park (and also current name of the place is Obora - same thing in Czech), the fact that there were white deer corresponds to this... But at least one postcard of lion cubs existed. Furthermore, peacocks. Zoo lay in the Chmelník hill (at the end of today's street U Obory) and was, together with a small botanical garden, renowned apiary and a skittle ground, part of the forest guesthouse Immenheim. Although Immenheim was in the woods, was a favourite for its park arrangement.
Guesthouse, zoo, etc. was built in 1909 (another source says 1912) by Joseph Fritsche, who built also a family tomb above the park, and there he was entombed later. After his death, Reinhold Fritsch (probably the son) took over the business . About the end of Immenheim there are two different versions... One says it was completely destroyed by a huge landslip in 1914 (or by the blaze couple months later) and has never been restored. The second talks about the best and most popular years after 1918. Due to the number of issued postcards (especially of restaurant and botanical garden) is more probable the second version. In this case, the zoo could exist likely until the war years - the Fritsche family was evicted after the war certainly. This variant is supported also by the fact that on the family tomb there is name of Oscar Fritsche, who died at the age of 24.5 years in 1919 - if the place was cluttered up with the landslip five years ago and never renew, apparently, the family would be moved, and would not be interring in this tomb. In addition of that, there are also reports that the area was devastated (by people) after 1945.
Today in the place there is gamekeeper's house and a mini deer park with deer and wild boars.
