The rearing area (nursery) was established as a temporary store of animals for future planning "Natural Park of Our Animals" (or "Nature Park of Ore Mountain Animals) in Karlovy Vary between Diana lookout and former forest cafe Linhart. The Natural Park in Karlovy Vary apparently never was realised, and so the Rearing area at Andělská Hora worked as an independent zoo untill to first mid 80s.

Already after one year of functioning there were about 300 animals, but the plan was more than 500 specimens after the next two years. There were red and roe deer, moufflons, wild boars, martens, hares, foxes, crows, peacocks and probably also many others. For the future park in Karlovy Vary were also planned fallow deer, muskrats, wild rabbits, squirrels, pheasants (including ornamental), storks, purple herons, wild ducks and geese, capercaillies, black grouses, partridges, quails, hawks, buzzards, sparrowhawks, kestrels, corvidae and smaller local birds (crossbills, hawfinches, orioles, linnets, goldfinches, siskins, titmice etc.). Which of these animals was lastly also in Andělská Hora is not known.
